Benjamin A. Shute
Ben earned his B.A. from Indiana University, Bloomington in 2013, and his J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2016. He has been admitted to practice in all Virginia courts in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and is admitted to practice in Washington D.C. Ben began practicing law in 2016 and has served as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Gloucester County, Loudoun County, and the City of Richmond. As a prosecutor, Ben handled homicides, violent crimes, felony narcotics and firearms offenses, fraud and white-collar offenses, sexual assaults, property crimes, DUIs, and traffic offenses of every variety. As a member of the City of Richmond's Narcotics and Firearms Team, Ben developed a wealth of experience prosecuting felony narcotics distribution cases and firearm offenses. Ben also has significant commercial litigation experience as well. Prior to joining Parcell, Webb & Baruch, P.C., Ben worked for one of the largest law firms in Virginia, representing public companies in complex regulatory litigation before state utility commissions.
Ben is an active member of the Virginia State Bar. Ben serves as President of the Board of Governors for the Virginia State Bar Young Lawyers Conference, has previously served on the Board of the Greater Richmond Criminal Bar Association, and is a member of the Richmond Bar Association Pro Bono Committee.
Ben's practice will focus on criminal and traffic defense, plaintiff personal injury, and civil litigation.
